Accessibility — SimpleJack: Blackjack Card Game

Last updated: May 2026

At SimpleJack, we believe our app should be usable by everyone. This page describes the accessibility features built into SimpleJack today.

Screen Reader Support

SimpleJack is designed to work with VoiceOver on iOS and TalkBack on Android. Every screen is built with screen reader users in mind.

  • Interactive elements include clear labels so screen readers can announce what each control does.
  • Roles and states identify buttons, headings, and adjustable controls, and communicate whether a control is selected, disabled, or in progress.
  • Hints provide extra context where it helps, so the purpose of an action is always clear.

Real-Time Announcements

Important changes are announced to screen readers as they happen. Critical updates are delivered immediately, while routine progress is shared more gently so it does not interrupt what you are doing.

Themes & Display

SimpleJack uses a dark interface throughout, designed to reduce eye strain in the relaxed, dimly lit settings where card games are often played.

Haptic Feedback

SimpleJack provides haptic feedback for key interactions, giving you a tactile sense of confirmation that does not depend on sight or sound. Haptics can be turned on or off in Settings.

Navigation & Visual Alternatives

A clear heading hierarchy lets screen reader users move through each screen quickly. Visual information is paired with text alternatives so the same information is available without sight, and purely decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers to avoid unnecessary noise.

Languages & Right-to-Left Support

SimpleJack is available in many languages and automatically detects your device language. Right-to-left layouts for Arabic and other RTL languages are fully supported, including text direction and layout mirroring.

Responsible Play

SimpleJack is for entertainment only. No real money is wagered, won, or paid out — all chips in the app are virtual and have no cash value. Practice playing with virtual chips does not imply future success in real-money gambling. If you or someone you know is struggling with gambling, please reach out to a local support service such as GambleAware.

Feedback

If you encounter any accessibility barriers or have suggestions for how we can improve, please contact us at [email protected]. Your feedback helps us make SimpleJack better for everyone.
